BOOSTHEAT obtains support from Total Développement Régional
Vénissieux, June 6, 2017
On June 6, 2017, BOOSTHEAT received support from Total Développement Régional (TDR) via its “Aide aux PME Innovantes” (API) SME innovation funding program. TDR will provide €400,000 to fund essential capital expenditure for the industrial scale-up of the boiler patented by BOOSTHEAT.
BOOSTHEAT is currently designing and developing a new generation of renewable energy thermodynamic boilers based on a technological innovation, the thermal compressor. This innovation is used to activate a thermodynamic cycle that guarantees excellent energy efficiency unequaled by any other boiler on the market. BOOSTHEAT offers a new highly energy-efficient heating solution that can cut gas consumption by half and reduce CO2 emissions accordingly. The system provides heating, domestic hot water and air-conditioning for individual households, collective housing and the tertiary market.
TDR supports SMEs developing technological innovation projects at the pre-industrial stage with firm prospects for generating sales and creating jobs in France.
« Aide aux PME Innovantes (API) is a funding program designed by Total Développement Régional (TDR) to support growth through SME innovation in France in the Group’s areas of expertise. In line with the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) second scenario, Total considers that gas is to play a growing part in the energy mix of tomorrow. By providing €400,000 of seed funding to BOOSTHEAT, which is developing a gas-powered heating system twice as efficient as current condensing boilers on the market, TDR is contributing to Total’s drive to promote energy efficiency. » Philippe Costerg, Head of SME Innovation Funding Department, Total Développement Régional.
With support from this program, BOOSTHEAT is developing a disruptive innovation at its R&D center in Toulouse and is building a new generation manufacturing plant in a longstanding industrial zone in Vénissieux which will lead to the creation of around 50 jobs by 2018.
BOOSTHEAT co-founders Luc Jacquet and Jean-Marc Joffroy stressed « the importance of offering households an efficient solution that allows them to contribute to energy transition in their daily lives. We are deeply grateful to Total Développement Régional for helping us to achieve our ambition. »
The market launch of BOOSTHEAT’s thermodynamic boiler is scheduled for 2018.

About Total Développement Régional
Supporting regional employment is one of Total’s core commitments. That’s why Total Développement Régional has been funding SME start-up, growth and takeover projects for over 10 years. Over the last three years, Total Développement Régional has provided €23.5 million of loans to 440 SMEs leading to the creation or preservation of over 8,000 jobs. One of its funding schemes is the “Aide aux PME Innovantes” (API) program set up in 2012 to support technological innovation. The program provides unsecured seed funding of €200,000-500,000 at 1% interest. The loans are granted at the pre-industrial stage of the project in the areas of expertise covered by Total.
